When I first built the bike I used the
twin radiators off the TLR to keep the tuned engine cool in
traffic. The top radiator was curved and somewhat shorter which
left an unsightly gap under the headstock, something I was never
happy with.
Then came the accident which flattened
the radiators when the headstock snapped, so that was that, I
was forced into changing it.
I decided upon the SV1000 radiator as it
was very similar to the original TLS radiator and also had the
nice end caps.
I still needed to keep a lower TLR
radiator for the extra cooling and oil/water heat exchanger
connection, so I blanked off the normal return pipe on the SV
radiator and welded on the additional connections needed for the
link pipes to the lower TLR radiator.
The SV radiator brackets were modified
slightly to suit the slightly wider frame and also the different
position of the bottom bracket. Two extra brackets were made for
the lower TLR radiator to hang from.
A childrens alloy camping bottle was
used for the expansion bottle with a neat stainless bracket
getting clamped behind the stock end cap.
The horn mounts to the radiator which
kept that out of sight aswell.
