It would have been all too easy to not
bother with an undertray but I wanted somewhere dry to keep
things like a tool kit, disc lock, punture kit etc. Also there
were many things needing brackets such as the ECU, Tip Over
Sensor, Regulator and flasher relay.
So I got out the cardboard and started
making templates. Many hours later I transferred them to sheet
alloy and carefully folded, bent and curved from one piece, the
corners were TIG'd and a neat platform made for the ECU. The
whole lot was then powder coated.
The underside was lined with heat
reflective matting to isolate it from the exhaust heat, which
proved to be a blessing when the carbon can disintegrated after
only 10 miles !
